SKIN TANS TIPS
​
The cells that sit on the top layer of our skin, the very ones that the fake tan has darkened, will naturally begin to flake away over the course of a week as our bodies generate new ones to replace them. As this continuous process takes its course, our tan will begin to tone down too. So, it’s not actually the colour itself that fades away; rather the darkened skin cells flake off, taking your glow along with them.
Depending on your skin type and lifestyle you can expect a tan to last between 2-7 days.

Here are some top tips for making a longer lasting tan:
1: Exfoliate the day before the tan
2: Wear no moisturiser, make up or deodorant on the day of the tan.
3: Wear baggy clothing to the tan and no bra, to prevent rubbing lines.
4: Do not get wet for 8 hours after tan (avoid rain and hand washing too)
5: Wear baggy clothes to bed
6: Shower the next day until the shower runs clear and guide colour washes off, avoid highly perfumed products and pat skin dry don't rub with towel for the duration of the tan.
7: Avoid soaking in long hot baths, steam rooms or saunas, swimming, excessive exercise, sweating or chlorinated water during the life of your tan. Have short showers and don't exfoliate.
8: Apply oil free moisturiser everyday to help prolong tan.
